I can’t thank you enough for the wonderful care you gave my mother and my father. It wasn’t easy for us or my mother. Everyone was so kind and caring. That meant so much to my family. You are very special people!

The G. Family

_____________________________________________________________________________

My godfather was a resident at your facility for three years following a debilitating stroke. The referral to your facility came from a friend who happens to be a social worker at a local hospital. Thankfully, the reference was very good as his family was not familiar with any long-term facilities in the area.

This past Wednesday, August 8th, he passed away. To say that he was a challenging resident is an understatement; yet your nursing and ancillary teams faced this daunting challenge with care and compassion. During his stay at Comprehensive Healthcare of Clearwater he received many different services to include Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapy. These services were very good to return him to his highest functioning level following his stroke. I cannot begin to name every person from these ancillary departments as he received these services upon his arrival three years ago, but I do want to recognize them for their professionalism and service provided to him.

The nursing care provided by RN’s, LPN’s and CAN’s was very good. He never developed bedsores nor did he have any major injuries despite the fact that he occasionally tried to get out of bed without assistance. There are many wonderful team members who I know will go unrecognized by name in this letter and for that I apologize. I will, though, name a few whose exemplary care did not go unnoticed.

Becky L. is an outstanding member of your nursing team. She went above and beyond in the compassionate care that extended not only to him, but to his family and myself as well. An example of this is when I arrived at the facility during his last days only to find Becky in his room setting up a music box to play serenity music, as she knew the end was nearing also. These small acts of kindness do not get overlooked.

Sara Y. was his absolute favorite aide. As stated before, he could be challenging and Sara had the knack to calm him down. She was very good to him and he would ask for her by name.  Mary Jo K. is one of the evening nurses and she was excellent in communicating any change in condition to me as the health care surrogate. He liked her very much also.

As stated before, I could not possibly recognize everyone who had a positive impact on the care given to him, but the few names listed above stand out. I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for all that you have done.

Sincerely,
Sylvia L.
