NEWS PRESS RELEASE!!
July 23, 2010
Dear Family and Friends of Auburndale Oaks,
In the paper this week was an article concerning a large lawsuit that was filed against the previous management company of Integrated Health Services of Auburndale for care received in 2003. On behalf of the current management company for Auburndale Oaks, I would like to clarify our position regarding this article as it does not pertain to the current operations of the facility. Our formal statement is the following:
“Auburndale Oaks Healthcare Center terminated its management agreement with Trans Healthcare and Trans Health Management on September 30, 2004. Trans Healthcare and Trans Health Management have not managed Auburndale Oaks since September 30, 2004. Auburndale Oaks Healthcare Center understands that Trans Healthcare and Trans Health Management did not defend any of the allegations by the plaintiff. Auburndale Oaks was not a party to the jury trial and did not participate in the trial. There was no evidence presented nor did the jury consider any evidence concerning any healthcare services by Auburndale Oaks to Mrs. Jackson.”
I am aware there will be much conversation and concern regarding this article in the community. The parties in the lawsuit are unrelated to the current management of Auburndale Oaks and have been for several years.
I would like to take this opportunity and thank everyone for your help throughout the years in supporting Auburndale Oaks. The patients, visitors, employees and health care professionals here truly make Auburndale Oaks a very special place. Hundreds of patients every year receive medical care at Auburndale Oaks with success stories too numerous to list. It is an honor for us to be able to serve the needs of the community with short-term rehabilitative and long-term patient care service.
Thank you for your understanding,
Chris Warrick, NHA
